When analyzing your business metrics, you may notice discrepancies between the amounts displayed in your widgets and those in your quote lists. These differences are normal and are due to distinct calculation logic between these two tools.
This article presents the main cases where these differences appear, to help you interpret your data correctly.
Case 1: Filtering by Business Unit
What's happening?
When filtering your data by Business Unit, the widgets and quote lists do not display the same amounts as they apply different logic.
How do widgets filtered by BU work?
Widgets like "Revenue signed by BU" or "Gross Margin signed by month and BU" calculate only the amounts distributed on the selected Business Unit.
Concrete example:
• Quote X converted into a project: €10,000 of Revenue
• Distribution: 60% BU A / 40% BU B
Result in widgets:
• Widget filtered on BU A → €6,000
• Widget filtered on BU B → €4,000
How do quote lists filtered by BU work?
Quote lists display all quotes that contain at least one distribution on the selected BU, with the total amount of the quote.
Concrete example (same quote):
• Quote X: €10,000 of Revenue
• Distribution: 60% BU A / 40% BU B
Result in lists:
• List filtered on BU A → €10,000
• List filtered on BU B → €10,000
Case 2: Signed quote widgets vs won quote lists
What's happening?
Widgets related to signed quotes (like "Revenue signed by BU" or "Gross Margin signed by month and BU") are based on the project creation date, while won quote lists are based on the date the quote changes to "Won" status.
Why does this difference create discrepancies?
In Furious, signed Revenue and Gross Margin are recorded at the time of project creation, which may occur on a different date from the quote changing to "Won".
Concrete example:
• Quote created on January 15, 2025
• Quote changed to "Won" on January 28, 2025
• Project created on February 5, 2025
• Amount: €10,000
Result:
• List of won quotes in January → €10,000
• Widget "Revenue signed" in January → €0
• Widget "Revenue signed" in February → €10,000

Key takeaway
The differences between widgets and quote lists are explained by distinct calculation logic: widgets filter by distributed amounts (BU case) or are based on the project creation date (signed quotes case), while lists display total amounts and are based on the quotes' status.
